About

Katherine Madson’s primary research focus is on decision-making for owners, designers and contractors within the construction domain.  Under Dr. Franz (2016-2020), her research identified flexible design strategies for facilities in the manufacturing sector and used real options analyses to assist owners in making the best investment decision regarding flexibility.  She is now an Assistant Professor at Iowa State University in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering.
